Farming has been one of the most successful activities in this country for many years and has always been credited as Kenya's economic backbone. Commercial farming has not been fully exploited in Kenya. The main challenge has been lack of lending facilities from the Government and financial institutions.
Emphasis is going to be laid on, availability of finances to buy seed and fertilizer, availability of land for planting, application of skills and modern technology, market demands and profits expected from market outlets. Experts on Business Development Services (BDS) will be contracted for establishment of professional direction in this area.
In addition to this, Value Chain Addition Analysis will be carried out to establish and develop on the benefits the market would give to the producers, the users and all the other stakeholders involved in production, trade and use.
